Dear GYSO&C Parents and Students,

What a great first rehearsal - that was certainly a most invigorating start to the year. As we go into the holiday weekend, please remember that in lieu of rehearsal, we are holding a picnic from 2 PM - 4 PM on Sunday (info below). Rehearsals start back up on September 13, 2009. On that day, all forms (Contract and Medical/Liability Release), the first tuition installment, and financial aid application (optional) are due. Please email me if you have any questions about those items or anything else.

Labor Day Picnic
Come meet the entire GYSO&C Family!

From 2 PM - 4 PM on Sunday September 6, we have reserved a space at Swift-Cantrell Park in Kennesaw (3140 Old 41 Hwy, Kennesaw, GA 30144) which is in-between the Murray Arts Center and Kennesaw State University. (directions)

It's a social event, so please bring the entire family as well as picnic items. There will bring a number of grills to use as well as charcoal provided.

If there is bad weather forecasted, we'll send notice of cancellation via email on Saturday. Otherwise, Hope to see you there!

David Perry  On Sunday September 13 at 5:30, David Perry (member of the Orpheus Chamber Ensemble and 1st violinist Pro Arte Quartet) will be giving an open masterclass for GYSO&C members. GYSO&C members Ray Kim (cello), Elijah Johnson (violin), and Nicholas Lindell (violin) will be performing. This is a great opportunity, and the first in a series of seminars given outside of the rehearsal process.
