Dear GYSO&C Students and Families,
It
was wonderful to have you all back last week, in spite of the somewhat icy
conditions. It's time to buckle down as we only have 6 (!!!) rehearsals until
our concert on February 28th!!! As always, if you have any questions, please let
me know. Also, please see below for a change to the
schedule on FEBRUARY 7 (Superbowl Sunday).

The concert recordings from the first concert of this season are now available for download! Simply click on the Donate button (above) and follow the steps! Once you get through, it is set up for unlimited download - so you can leave the page and then come back later without worrying about if it will be there.
There is a suggested donation of $10, but it is a "pay what you like." So you can pay $0.01 or $100 - whatever you like. If you have problems connecting through your e-mail account, simply view this e-mail as a webpage and click directly from the web.
All income will go directly to the GYSO&C Scholarship fund - so you will be directly helping the other 399 students that you sit with in rehearsal on Sundays.

CSO
JazzOn January 23 and 24, the CSO Jazz will give its first concert - a show of Latin tunes. It will take place at the gorgeous Earl Smith Strand Theatre on the Marietta Square. As always, GYSO&C students receive a free ticket to the event - simply contact me to reserve yours!

REHEARSAL TIME CHANGES
Due to Superbowl Sunday, we will be changing around rehearsals a bit on that day in order that you all can make it to the various events that happen around that day. Please see below for the time change.

Annual Concerto CompetitionOpen to GYSO&C members only, this competition is just another way to gain valuable experience in auditioning. Some students will be selected to perform with the CSO and or GYSO&C Symphony, but the most important item is the opportunity to learn from the audition process. Members may perform on their primary instrument or another instrument (including voice and piano) provided that the work performed is originally written for soloist and orchestra.
