Beverly Martin
I am a native Cobb Countian. My great-great-grandfather settled here around
1851, one hundred years before I was born.
I attended Blackwell Elementary School; East Cobb and Daniell Middle Schools;
and graduated in 1969 from the “old” Sprayberry High School, which is now Walker
School on Cobb Parkway.
After graduation, I began working at Equifax where I was employed for 10 years.
During that time period, I married and had two children. I had the opportunity
to be a stay-at-home mom for seven years and entered back into the work force in
1993 as a Department Secretary in the Admissions Office at Life University. In
1998, I started working for Cobb County Government as an Administrative
Assistant in Pretrial Court Services. I transferred to the County Manager’s
Office in 2001 as the Administrative Assistant to his Executive Assistant.
I have always loved music and grew up singing in church choirs as well as in my
high school chorus. I was a member of the Roswell Street Baptist Church Adult
Choir for 25 years and had the opportunity to sing in a ladies ensemble, an a
cappella choir and praise ensemble. I also played in the handbell choir. I
served as a Children’s Choir Director for 13 years for the 4 year old and 2nd
grade choirs and was the Preschool Choir Coordinator for two years. I am
currently a member of Macland Baptist Church and sing in their adult choir.
I thank God for His direction in my life and grateful for His many blessings
which include my two wonderful children. My son Greg & wife Stephanie live in
Kennesaw and are the parents of my “perfect” grandson Noah. My daughter Melissa
& husband Kurt live in Tampa, FL and are the parents of my beautiful
granddaughter Kaylee. I also have three grand-dogs Bronx, Theo and Kirby.
Some of my hobbies include photography, crafts and reading. I enjoy bowling,
going to concerts and traveling. I am currently divorced and live in West Cobb.
I am honored to be a part of the CSO Chorus.
