I was raised in Chamblee, Georgia where my Father was organist and choir director at Prospect Methodist Church (now Chamblee First Methodist) and later was the choir director at Northwoods Methodist Church in Doraville. In addition to being a part of church choirs, I have sung in the Macon Symphony Chorus and with the Atlanta Summer Singers. I graduated from UGA and then GA State with degrees in special education. I was a teacher and administrator in DeKalb County for many years. After returning from having lived in Columbus, GA, Thailand, and Hawaii, and Macon, GA, I continued work in special education and also enjoyed 10 years as the Director of Training in the mediation business at the Justice Center of Atlanta. I was fortunate enough to be able to combine mediation and education in my current position as Resolution Specialist for Special Student Services in the Cobb County School District. I work to try to resolve disputes between families and the District before they get adversarial enough to go to court! I have one wonderful daughter who works for FEMA as a trainer. My dogs, Peaches and Bones actually run my house and I’m lucky that they let me live there!
