Marjorie Meder has loved music and singing since she can remember. Born one of the youngest in a rather large family, she grew up listening to the Beatles and other excellent music from a very young age. She has sung with choruses and church choirs most of her life, and is thoroughly enjoying the experience of singing with the CSOC. Marjorie is the Choir Librarian at Burnt Hickory Baptist Church and sings on their praise team. She also sings solo and small ensemble vocal selections with a big band out of Cartersville, the Etowah Jazz Society. Currently a sixth grade language arts teacher, she is married for over 25 years to her husband Paul, and they are blessed with two exceptional children. Erika is a second year graduate student at the Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, majoring in voice performance and pedagogy. Ryan will be continuing his education in January at Kennesaw State University, majoring in history education. He is a self-taught drummer, and plays in a garage band (Well, actually, it's our basement). Both children sang with the Cobb Symphony in years gone by: Erika with The Pebblebrook Center for Excellence in the Performing Arts, and Ryan with the Georgia Young Singers. The family has two pound-rescue dogs that they are especially fond of, except when they chew on someone's sock.
