![]() ![]() Orchestra → Meet the Orchestra → Michael Alexander
Active as a guest conductor, Dr. Alexander has conducted in Europe and Australia, as well as various venues in the United States. He has performed with the Maikop Symphony Orchestra and the Novgorod Symphony Orchestra in Russia, the Bacau Philharmonic in Romania, and the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra. He has also conducted at the 2003 Catania Music Festival in Italy and in 2004 served as he Music Director for the Madison Savoyards Opera Company. Dedicated to music education, for two years Dr. Alexander conducted the orchestra at Verona High School outside of Madison, Wisconsin; served on the artistic staff of the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra; serves on the performing faculty with the Maud Powell Music Festival; and has contributed articles to the Teaching Music Through Performance book series. Dr. Alexander lives in Kennesaw with his wife Allyson, son Jacob and Cleo the Cat.
