Christopher Nero, guitar
It was not until high school that Mr. Nero was exposed to classical guitar music. Julien Bream, Lutenist and Guitarist visited Cleveland, Ohio and performed with both instruments in concert on the Campus of Case Western Reserve University. He found that he thoroughly enjoyed it and started his classical guitar studies with Mr. Dick Lurie. He continued his classical guitar studies with Mr. Lurie and then a rare opportunity came about when his teacher arranged for him to travel to Spain during summer break after his junior year in high school, to study under the direction of concert guitarist Miguel Rubio. Traveling throughout Spain that summer has given Mr. Nero many cherished memories and being part of a traveling guitar class, Mr. Nero and his fellow students were asked to perform quite regularly. During the past few years Mr. Nero has been a guitar teacher at North Gwinnett Community School, Cumming Parks and Recreation, as well as performing for the past three years in the annual productions of A Classical Christmas, which is arranged by The City of Cumming at their Playhouse Auditorium. In 2005, Mr. Nero was awarded the prestigious honor of Teacher of The Year from North Gwinnett Community School. Mr. Nero’s passion for music and his enthusiasm easily transfer to his students. Mr. Nero currently performs with his jazz quartet, Palladium or as Palladium Duo, accompanying Rosa Wright, his groups’ vocalist. He performs classical guitar works for wedding ceremonies as well as private functions. He may be contacted through his E-mail, jazzmn2@yahoo.com or the groups website www.palladiumjazz.com. |
