Sarah Paul has been teaching cello lessons since 1988. She has been
teaching in metro Atlanta since 1996. Besides instructing students in
her home studio, she has coached the cellists at Westminster Schools
and has taught private lessons and group classes at the Waldorf School
of Atlanta. She also conducted the Atlanta Suzuki String Orchestra
from 1997-2002. Prior to returning to the Atlanta area, she taught
cello lessons and string orchestra for six years at the Potomac School
in McLean, Virginia. Ms. Paul is also active as a performer. She plays
regularly with the chamber music ensemble that she founded in 1996,
Amati Chamber Music. She has performed with the Atlanta Ballet
Orchestra, the Gwinnett Philharmonic, the Cobb Symphony, and with the
symphonies of Savannah, Macon, and Augusta. She was formerly the
Principal Cellist of the Augusta Symphony. While living in the DC
area, Sarah Paul performed with the Baltimore Opera Orchestra, the New
York City Opera National Company, Opera Americana, and the Richmond,
Fairfax, Alexandria, Arlington, and Virginia Symphonies. She was also
the Principal Cellist of the Orchestra of the Jewish Community Center
of Greater Washington and played regularly with Con Brio!, A Musical
Offering, and the Crystal Strings. Sarah Paul has a Bachelor of Music
in Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins
University in Baltimore, Maryland. In addition, she has studied at the
Manhattan School of Music in New York and the Cincinnati
College-Conservatory of Music in Ohio.
