Tatyana Kogan has over 35 years of teaching experience. She began to study classical piano at the age of 5 in Kharkiv, Ukraine. After 8 years of music education at a conservatory preparatory school, Tatyana completed a Bachelor degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. She began her formal career in music education teaching
piano in the Music and Art School. Obtaining the highest
level of teacher certification she worked for many years in
the district department of music education. In 1992, she
moved to the USA where she continued her music career
teaching piano in private and district schools and in a
program for gifted children at Xavier University in
Cincinnati OH. In 2000 she moved with her family to Chicago
IL where she worked as director and teacher in a piano
studio affiliated with a Christian School. She also started
a music program for children with special needs which she
considers the most rewarding application of her skills and
knowledge. At present Tatyana lives in Roswell GA with her husband
Gene, and maintains her private studio. Tatyana’s son
graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Computer
Science and now is a successful software consultant in New
York city. |
