Stephen Meyer
is currently in his first year as the Associate Director of Bands at Harrison High School in Kennesaw, Georgia. He conducts the Symphonic Band as well as assists with the nationally-ranked Wind Ensemble and Marching Band. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Stephen recently graduated magna cum laude from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. During his time there, he served for two years as drum major of the Indiana University Marching Hundred, studied French horn with current Canadian Brass member Jeff Nelsen and completed the graduate wind conducting cognate under the tutelage of Dr. Scott Weiss and Dr. Brian Doyle. He has been awarded the Kappa Kappa Psi North Central District Young Conductor Award and was a finalist for the Herman B Wells Distinguished Senior Award. Stephen has served as principal horn for the National Festival Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, the CBDNA Regional Intercollegiate Band, and the Indiana Intercollegiate Band and is also an active arranger and editor for both concert and marching bands.
